The Assembly and its committees

Members, committees, meetings and the resolutions that come out of them — with a way to check whether those resolutions were ever carried out.

Members

Members are either elected for an electoral area or appointed by the government. The register holds the term dates, so a member whose term has ended stops appearing as sitting.

Committees

The Executive Committee and the statutory sub-committees each hold their membership with positions — chairperson, secretary, member. A member can sit on several.

Meetings

A meeting records the agenda before it sits and the minutes after. Attendance is taken member by member, marking present, absent or apology.

Where a quorum is required, the meeting page shows the number present against the number needed and flags plainly whether the quorum was met. A meeting without quorum cannot carry a valid resolution, so this is worth checking before the debate rather than after.

Resolutions

Each resolution records the votes for, against and abstaining, the office responsible for carrying it out, and a date by which it should be done. The resolutions page lists everything adopted but not yet implemented, which is the list the Assembly should be asked about at the next sitting.
